Just prior to his appearance at the NFL Draft, Eminem dropped a bombshell, revealing the impending arrival of his 12th studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” slated for a summer debut.

Following his NFL cameo, a teaser for the album swiftly surfaced online, featuring a true crime narrator delving into the demise of Eminem’s alter ego, Slim Shady. “Through his intricate and often-controversial rhymes, the enigmatic anti-hero known as Slim Shady has amassed no shortage of adversaries,” the narrator reflects.

In a cameo appearance, Eminem’s longtime collaborator 50 Cent weighs in, declaring, “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.” The narrator presses on, suggesting that Slim Shady’s abrasive lyrics and provocative actions may have paved the way for his own downfall. “Join me as we piece together the events leading to the demise of Slim Shady,” he invites.

Eminem himself makes a cameo, remarking, “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.”

This announcement follows Eminem’s surprise drop of his previous album, “Music to Be Murdered By,” in January 2020, which quickly soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and spawned the chart-topping single “Godzilla” featuring Juice Wrld.

Slim Shady has served as an alter ego for Eminem since the release of 1997’s “Slim Shady EP” and its follow-up, “The Slim Shady LP,” two years later. This persona has often been utilized by the rapper to channel his more aggressive and provocative lyrical content, establishing him as a controversial figure in the hip-hop scene since the outset of his career. Notable tracks featuring Slim Shady include “Guilty Conscience,” “’97 Bonnie and Clyde,” and notably, “Kill You.”
