Ras Al Khaimah Inks Agreement with UK Business Chamber to Enhance Bilateral Investment Cooperation

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) has initiated efforts to strengthen collaboration with the UK, as evidenced by the signing of an agreement aimed at bolstering future investments and providing support to existing British investors in the emirate.

The bilateral agreement also seeks to enhance business activities by facilitating international connectivity between Ras Al Khaimah and the UK, with benefits extending to the wider region.


Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, welcomed a high-level British delegation to explore areas of trade and economic cooperation between the emirate and the UK.


The delegation included officials from the British Embassy, including Gareth Johnson MP, the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to the UAE, and board members of the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai (BCCD), led by Chairman Andrew Mortimer and CEO Katy Holmes.


Officials from RAK Economic Zone provided the delegation with insights into setting up businesses in the free zone and the comprehensive support and services available to those launching ventures in the UAE.


Ramy Jallad, CEO of RAKEZ Group, emphasized the pride in serving as the chosen business hub for over 1,700 British SMEs and industrial players. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai in strengthening economic ties between the UK and Ras Al Khaimah.


Rob Bricker, Country Director for the Department of Business and Trade at the British Embassy, UAE, expressed commitment to increasing opportunities for UK companies across all emirates. He underscored support for the partnership between BCCD and RAKEZ, emphasizing the shared goal of fostering mutual growth and prosperity.


RAKEZ currently hosts prominent British companies such as global tea producer Ahmad Tea, leading laptop remanufacturer A2C, aircraft cabin simulator manufacturer Spatial Composite, and manufacturers like Manchester Paperbags and JRL Fabrications, among others.
